The creation of fashion – How to understand, master and create fashion

The word « creation » applies to fashion in two ways :

THE CLASSIC SENSE OF CREATION
A classic and rather vague sense of the word « creation » refers equally to the creative activities displayed by fashion, defined as a sociological movement; and to the work of the great couturier, indicating in this sense, an artistic expression in the field of fashion. 
Blue jeans, due to their wide popularity, and the New Look, due solely to the talent of Mr. Christian Dior, are equally creations.

THE NEW SENSE OF CREATION
A new sense of « creation » dating from about 1978, and more precisely where creation designates a particular field of fashion, halfway between ready-to-wear and haute couture, which stems from both without being one or the other, is the subject of our study. A growing field, Creation has rejuvenated both haute couture and ready-to-wear.
In short, fashion today depends entirely on Creation.
